I LOVE hummus but some of the ‘store bought’ ones have 50% Sunflower oil – making them rather unhealthy!

So here is a recipe with NO OIL at all. It is super simple to make and trust me it doesn’t compromise the taste one bit.

Great with wholegrain pitta bread or carrots and peppers.



1 can of chickpeas

1 garlic clove (peeled)

2-3 TBS Tahini paste

Juice of half a small lemon

Pinch of Himalayan pink salt

3-4 tbs water


  1. Place all ingredients (bar the water) in food processor and blend.
  2. Then slowly add water until smooth……DONE!

Store in airtight container in fridge – last around a week.

Delicious topped with paprika and sesame seeds.
